Good Coffee, and freedom from Timmy's

About a month or so back, folks on my Quilter's newsgroup were chatting about a new way they'd found to make coffee - turns out its a pretty old-fashioned new way. Called cold brewing.

Check it out at Toddy Cafe.

Now, I don't often jump on bandwagons or fall for advertising hype I haven't investigated. But the Quilters, many of whom are coffee fans of my calibre, were not wrong. This is a darned nice way to make coffee! I have not purchased a take-out cuppa, nor have I had a case of coffee-heartburn, in over 3 weeks.

It is, as the vendor of this product admits, more expensive per cup than a drip brewer. But it is less expensive than take-out, certainly, and more convenient to make at home on a rushed morning (the reason I would get take-out). And you don't end up pouring out half the pot, so overall it does seem to save some.

If any of you want to try out the coffee, let me know and I'll try to remember to bring some along next time we gather.
